This is rich–Dan Quayle walking out of a John Mellencamp concert because Mellencamp dared to express a political viewpoint different from Quayle’s. I’m certain Quayle’s departure must have just devestated Mellencamp. Please!!!!!!! Perhaps he was rushing off to a spelling bee?
Dan Quayle The Music Critic

If the Dixie Chicks can do, so can Dan Quayle. He has the right to his opinions, too.
That sort of reminds me of when the lady on Everybody Loves Raymond walked out of the Emmy’s because of the bad language. I thought she was very brave.
Annegb: Come on, now really. The Dixie Chicks are much more credible than Dan Quayle. And, I think they can even spell 🙂
I’d hardly heard of the Dixie Chicks before the hoopla. And how do you know they can spell?
Plus some of my best friends can’t spell worth a darn.
I wouldn’t vote for Dan Quayle, but I wouldn’t vote for them, either.
I’m sort of going with Feingold at the moment. I like that guy, what I know of him.
Annegb: I like Feingold as well. He is certainly light years ahead of what is currently passing for an American President and Administration.
I am amused between the comparison between Dan Quayle and the Dixie Chicks.
Yes, Dan Quayle has the right to his opinion. Good for him for walking out due to his beliefs. I personally wouldn’t walk in to most concerts these days. Not for my beliefs, but because of prices. Quayle probably paid 2-3 hundred bucks for those tickets. Highway robbery if you ask me.
Where are the people smashing Meloncamp CDs and boycotting him on the radio?
I’m afraid that Quayles opinion doesn’t hold much water these days…
Ian, I’m not sure Quayle’s opinion held much water in any day
